St. Charles Parish Citizens Academy

Ever wonder how a crime scene is processed, how detectives solve a crime, or why 911 operators ask "so many" questions? Television makes it all look easy, but now you can see what really happens behind the scenes!

Sheriff Greg Champagne is hosting a FREE Citizens Academy for those who live and/or work in St. Charles Parish and are at least 18 years of age. This 10-week program gives participants a chance to see up close how the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office operates. Participants should plan to attend all or most of the sessions. Class size is limited, so please register quickly. 

Applicants must agree to allow the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office to run a criminal history background check.

To qualify for attending this Academy you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Provide information necessary for a criminal background check
  • Work or live in St. Charles Parish
  • Commit to attending all classes
