Juvenile Programs
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Program Division is a specialized unit within the Sheriff's Office. It is staffed by Lieutenant Roanne Sampson and Sergeant Keysla Perrilloux.
The division implements several evidence-based programs aimed at empowering St. Charles Parish youth, reducing juvenile crime, fostering positive relationships between law enforcement and young people, and providing life skills to adolescents. These programs are designed based on scientific evidence of their effectiveness and are delivered through group sessions and youth engagement activities.
The division offers various programs, including:
- Art Therapy
- B.O.S.S. Up
- Catch my B.A.G. (Behavior, Attitude, and Grades)
- Community gardening
- Cub Scouts
- D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)
- Exploring Crew Girls Camp
- Explorer Post #15
- G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education and Training) Program
- St. Charles Parish Youth Symposium
- St. Charles Parish Walk Against Bullying
- Women and Children Health Fair (Tots & Tummies)
- Youth Leadership Council
Additionally, deputies work closely with community partners, such as the CARE Center, Louisiana Mental Health Association, Louisiana Public Health, Safe Havynn, St. Charles Parish Public Schools, St. Charles Parish Department of Community Services, United Way of St. Charles, to provide our youth with additional resources.
