Salute to Our Fallen Officers

St. Charles Parish's Heroic Officers
Law officers nationwide put their lives on the line every day. For the men and women of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, many days are routine. In the flash of an eye, however, even the most routine call can unexpectedly turn deadly. It's at those times that officers perform great acts of heroism. We celebrate the dedication of those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty - those who survived to face another day and those for whom the bell tolls.

Honoring Local Officers Killed in the Line of Duty
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office honors the men who unselfishly paid the ultimate price in the course of protecting the people of our parish. Sheriff Lewis Ory, Deputy James Alan Arterbury, Deputy Nelson Coleman and Deputy Jeff G. Watson will forever be held in the highest esteem.

St. Charles Parish Fallen Heroes Memorial
The Memorial to Fallen Officers was completed and dedicated on May 19, 2011, thanks to the donations from many members of the community.  Sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police and funded by donations from officers and community sponsors, the monument honors fallen heroes in St. Charles Parish.  The memorial is at the entrance of the headquarters of the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office, located at 260 Sugarland Parkway, in Luling.

Expansion to Memorial
The St. Charles Fraternal Order of Police has expanded the St. Charles Parish Fallen Officers' Memorial, located at the Sheriff's Office Headquarters in Luling, LA.  In May 2014, a bronze statue of a kneeling officer was added to the Memorial.  In 2016, fountains, benches, and additional lighting were installed. A statue representing a tribute to families left behind is planned.

The project has been and will continue to be financed through the sale of memorial bricks placed on the monument walkway. The bricks are inscribed with the donors' names.  This is an excellent opportunity to have your name or that of a loved one forever associated with the St. Charles Parish Fallen Heroes Memorial.
