The Bonds and Fines Section of the Civil Division is comprised of several support personnel who collect all traffic and criminal fines. Personnel attend court to obtain records of fines ordered by District Judges.
Services
Individuals who have been issued traffic tickets or have been assigned fines by the courts may pay these costs online, in person, or by mail with the appropriate form of payment and documentation. Office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Additionally, a voice recording of all traffic fines is accessible 24 hours a day at (985) 783-6437.
Collections & Use
Twice a month, the monies from all tickets that have been passed through court as satisfied are disbursed to the various parish and state agencies or bond refunds are issued to the appropriate individual. Bonds and Fines processed $3.5 million during the fiscal year ending in 2023.
