St. Charles Parish Service
Commander Mixon began her Public Safety career with St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office in 2005 as a Communications Specialist in the Communications Division. Over the course of her career in Communications, Mixon has served as a Certified Training Officer, Assistant Shift Manager, Shift Manager, and Quality Assurance Manager. In 2014, Mixon was promoted to Deputy Director of Communications. One year later, Sheriff Greg Champagne appointed Mixon as the Director of Communications. In 2017, Mixon became a P.O.S.T. Certified Peace Officer and attained her current rank of Commander.
Education and Training
After graduating from Hahnville High School in 2003, Mixon attended Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. In 2017, Mixon graduated from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office Regional Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Academy. Commander Mixon is also a 2020 graduate of the National Command & Staff College Session #009.

Personal Life
Commander Ravenel Mixon was born and raised in St. Charles Parish. She resides in St. John the Baptist Parish with her husband, Shawn, and their five children.
