Lieutenant Lennie Brown is married and has 2 daughters and 1 step-daughter. He is an active member of the St. Charles Masonic Lodge #445, and the Jerusalem Shriners.
A Graduate of Lutheran High School in Metairie, Louisiana, Lennie Brown attended the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office law enforcement academy in 1996. Since that time, he has attended numerous seminars on Juvenile and Criminal Investigations. He received certification for School Resource Officer in June 2005.
Lieutenant Brown began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with JPSO 2nd District from 1996 to 2000. He was then employed by Gretna Police Department Patrol division from 2000-2002. From 2002 to 2004 he was employed by JPSO Patrol division and was promoted to Detective in 2004 and assigned to Juvenile Investigations / Police on Campus Division where he worked as an SRO at Helen Cox High School until October 2005. In March of 2006, Sgt. Brown was employed by St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office as a Patrol Officer. He was promoted to Detective in April 2008 and assigned to the Juvenile Investigations Division. In August 2010 he was transferred to the Special Services Division as a School Resource Officer assigned to Destrehan High School. In April of 2020 Brown was promoted to lieutenant overseeing the Safe School Program.
