Court Security Division

Responsibilities

The Court Security Division, a part of the Planning and Research Department, is responsible for security in the courts of the 29th Judicial District. Whenever the court is in session, a crier or bailiff must be present. The bailiffs provided are armed deputies who are responsible for maintaining order. In addition, the Court Security Division mans the access points into the courtroom area of the courthouse.

Metal detectors are utilized, and deputies are posted along public hallways of the judicial section of the courthouse. They are responsible for maintaining public order in these areas.

Visitors

Visitors to the judicial area should be aware that they are subject to search for weapons prior to entering, particularly when the court is in session.
