General Information
The Special Operations Division (SOD) was established in July 2003 for the purpose of homeland security and crisis management.

Function
SOD oversees the development, planning, directing, and operations of the Special Response Team (SRT). The SRT performs all high-risk entries for search arrest warrants, as well as all barricaded suspect calls. The SRT along with the St. Charles Parish Training Division trained all sheriff's office personnel in active shooter response. The SRT is a fully trained Hazmat Response Team that works with the Region Three six-parish response team.
