Staff
The 9-1-1 Communications Center operates 24 hours a day. There is currently a total staff of 25 employees that include administrative, supervisory, and communications specialist personnel. They respond to non-emergency and emergency calls for service and dispatch emergency response personnel for St. Charles Hospital Emergency Medical Services, nine volunteer fire departments, and the sheriff’s office.

Training & Certifications
Communications Specialists are certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch. They also receive continuing dispatch education throughout the year on various dispatch topics. Communications Specialists are also trained to provide assistance to the hearing impaired in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
