St. Charles Parish Citizens' Academy

We all know police work isn’t quite what it seems.  One hour TV shows make it look easy, but in reality there’s much more to it.  In an effort to give parish citizens first-hand information on how and why the Department operates, St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office will be offering a Citizens Academy to local residents.  This free academy consisting of ten sessions will be held one night a week at the St. Charles Sheriff’s Office at 260 Edward Dufresne Parkway, Luling, Louisiana.

The program involves classroom, interactive instruction and a variety of scenarios.  Participants are given the same information that our police recruits and officers receive during in-service training.

Here is a 2-minute video overview of the 2014 Academy.
