Court School
Function
Students who exhibit behavior that makes it inappropriate for them to remain on a regular school campus are assigned to Court School, in accordance with a collaborative agreement between the St. Charles Parish Public School System, the St. Charles Parish Court System, and the Sheriff's Office.Court School is primarily behaviorally oriented, more therapeutic, and where students achieve social and academic skills that facilitate their return to the regular school environment and/or community. Students have to follow strict guidelines while attending the school.
Mission
The mission of the school is four-fold:- Ensure that the students will progress appropriately in their scholastic endeavors
- Provide all student with an environment that is safe and conducive to learning
- Provide students with experiences that develop social skills so that they may become positive contributors to themselves and society
- Reduce the number and frequency of students suspended, expelled, and/or excluded
